Today is the most perfect, beautiful spring day. Temperature in the high 80s, big fat billowy clouds. A little breeze carrying the sweet smell of alfalfa from the ranch behind my house. The elm trees have leafed out enough to shade the yard. I spent about an hour sitting outside writing an outline for a short story.
I also dug around in the dirt and planted some zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, onions, broccoli, and eggplant. I started the seeds a couple of months ago, indoors, so they feel like my babies. My baby pumpkins died because I planted them out too early. Cross your fingers that these make it, or I will be crying. I hate to wait too long to plant them out, because I want enough time to plant seeds if they don’t make it.
So now my nails are dirty, my head is full of a new story, I have a little sun on my face, and I’m feeling fine.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Gardening in a beautiful day is always fun.
I loved gardening, and good luck with yours. Mine is not doing so hot b/c of the lack of rain.
