First…all my transplants survived their first mountain night. Everything, even the zucchini, is perky and upright. No wilting! You can’t see me, so you’ll have to take my word for it that I’m doing my happy dance.
I’m 8500 words in to that short story. It’s a different kind of story than I’m used to writing, so it’s fun to work on. The first of Pink Petal’s anthologies is focused on shape shifters. My story is about a woman who can shift into a bird and a man who can shift into a cat. It’s a little on the irreverent side, but not too much. Just enough. I hope. The story needs to be 15000 to 25000 words. I’m hoping to have the first draft done by time I leave Thursday for Las Vegas. I’ll print whatever I have, plus what I have written on my novel, and work on them in the hotel. See how I really like that solitude for work
Man, I wish I had a laptop. I need to get me one of those. Maybe with my first royalty check, huh? lol
I live in the tiniest town. About 15 miles away is another, less tiny town, that has one movie theater with one screen. It changes it’s movie once every week, two weeks, if it gets a blockbuster on opening weekend we’ll likely have that movie for three weeks. Right now the new Indiana Jones movie is playing, and that’s where we’re headed to celebrate Father’s Day. Kevin is a big Indie fan. I am too, but it’s going to take some doing to convince me a man of his age can do the things he did in the other movies.
